On business matters; the first is signed in ink, ā€œA.J. Freemanā€ and the second by Freeman but in type. TL (Unsigned). ½p. 4to. Boston, March 15, 1901. Regarding a business/legal matter. Fine condition.

BUTLER BROTHERS. Giant American retailer and wholesale supplier founded in Chicago in 1877. TLS. 1p. 4to. Chicago, 1910. A letter promoting ā€œa whirlwind plan to stimulate sales and keep everybody talking about your store…our Piano Contest Sales Plan.ā€

D.H. BALDWIN. American piano manufacturer who opened his music store found in Cincinnati in 1862 and offered his first piano in 1890. TLS (ā€œD.H. Baldwin and Co.ā€ in type). 1p 4to. Cincinnati, April 10, 1886. Reporting on the success of the company. With the original envelope.

MASON & HAMLIN CO. American piano manufacturers founded by Henry Mason (son of renowned hymn composer Lowell Mason) and mechanic Emmons Hamlin. TLS. ½p. Oblong 8vo. New York, May 16, 1907. A letter signed by the company’s manager Lewis H. Clement giving strict orders that ā€œ[piano] tuners must positively report to this office…every morning.ā€ Fine condition.

MERRILL PIANO MANUFACTURING CO. American piano maker established in 1853. Partly Printed DS. 1p. Oblong 8vo. Lawrence, Massachusetts, March 5, 1901. A receipt from the Merrill Piano factory for a Merrill piano, signed by the company’s attorney. In fine condition.

R.E. DELANO. American representative for several piano manufacturers including Newby-Evans and Peck and Sons. ALS. (ā€œR.E. Delanoā€). 3/4p. 4to. Rockland, MA. November 11, 1902. Asking payment for tuning a piano.

W.V. TASKER. Possibly a music instrument dealer in Vermont. ALS. 1p. 8vo. Bennington, December 11, 1894. Regarding the death of Mrs. W.V. Tasker. Fine condition.
